Potato Kutty Curry

This is another yummy curry that i like. My paternal grandma used to cook it so well. Though it is dry, it goes well with rotis.

Ingredients :

5,6 medium sized potatos
Approximately 2 spoons sambar powder or chilli powder
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds, urad daal, jeera, hing for seasoning.

Method :

Cut potatos into small cubes. Steam the potatos in microwave for 6, 7 minutes.
In a pan, heat some oil and pop mustard seeds. Add urad daal, jeera and hing and fry till urad daal turns golden brown. Add the potato cubes, sambar powder/chilli powder and salt and saute till it is done.

In case you are wondering what 'kutty' means...it means small in tamil :-) My mom and grandmas make different kinds of potato curry and i used to refer to it as kutty curry and the name kinda stuck on it :)
