Last 3 weeks were extremely hectic and i could not post on time to wish you all on mother's day! Hope you all had a wonderful mother's day! I did! :-) My two boys gave me some beautiful hand made gifts from school and daycare and my hubby gave me some wonderful gifts too :-) Missed being with my mom though! I called her and talked to her and my grandma, but wish they were here. Every mom should be acknowledged and appreciated everyday and i think it is nice to do something extra on mother's day:-) My mom has done so much and i really learnt to appreciate all that only after becoming a mom. After becoming a mom i realized what a brat i was :-O I was a total daddy's girl and always troubled mom, argued with her for silly things, never helped her, etc..etc. I still kinda get on her nerves once in a while, but i think i've gotten a whole lot better now ;-)
My mom was working and still always took time to cook so many things to our liking before going to work. My brother and I had/have similar taste and my dad liked different things. Everyday, she used to cook two curries (one for me and my brother and one for my dad), a salad or raita during summers, keerai during other time along with sambar and rasam, plus something for breakfast. This she would cook before 7.30 in the morning. I had no idea what time she used to get up. She would come back from work and make something fresh for dinner. Very rarely i used to offer help and she used to say, 'if you stay out of kitchen that would be the greatest help of all' :D But, she enjoyed my conversations in the kitchen. I used to tell her everything that happened at school / college. I continued to do this even after i started working. I still talk to her very frequently, but i miss those day to day kitchen conversations. She is not just my mom, but a great friend too. I can go on and on...I hope i am atleast half as good as her to my kids :) Happy Mother's day to the greatest mom and to all the wonderful moms out there! :)
I know i kinda disappeard all of a sudden and don't visit your blogs either. Hope to get back to routine soon. It's kinda crazy here!! See you all soon!
