Vadacurry with Garden veggie patties

Morningstar veggie patties are a good source of protein. Each patty has about 11g protein. My husband and my kids like it, but i don't like it :-( My friend used to suggest that i take it or the bean patty during my pregnancy, but no...i couldn't even tolerate it. I wanted to make it likeable or atleast make it tolerable and i tried this and it was too good. I have never ever tasted vada curry in my life and i asked my husband if it was close to it and he said yes. So, i am blogging about it now without any hesitation :-)

This is a healthy version of vadacurry because i did not fry the patties. I only steamed it as per the instructions in the package.
Ingredients :
Garden veggie patties - 6
Onion - 1 medium
Tomatos - 1 big
Green chillies - 3
Mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves and urad daal for seasoning
Salt to taste
Garam masala - 1 spoon (optional)
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 or 1 spoon
Cilantro for garnishing.

Method :

Steam the patties as per the instructions and crumble it with hands.
In a pan, heat little oil, pop mustard seeds.
Add hing, urad daal and curry leaves and fry till the daal is golden brown.
Add green chillies and fry for a minute.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
Add onions and saute till it's translucent.
Add chopped tomatos and cook till it is soft.
Add the crumbled patties and salt and cook for another 10 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro.

Tastes good with Idli/Dosa.
