Coconut Chutney

First of all, Tamil Puthaandu Vaazhthukkal :-) (Happy Tamil New Year!)

I have so many recipes in my draft, but didn't feel like posting at all last week. Didn't have the mood to blog or even sit in front of the pc. Work was hectic and i guess my eyes were tired of seeing the pc at home too! Today, I thought i will post something simple and yummy.

This is my husband's favorite side dish for idli /dosa. I like it too, esp. when cilantro is added to it. Gives a nice flavour to it.

Ingredients :

1. Grated coconut - 1 cup
2. Pottu kadalai / Roasted channa daal - 1/2 cup
3. Green chillies - 4
4. Cilantro - 1/2 bunch
5. Mustard seeds, urad daal and hing for seasoning
6. Salt to taste

Method :

Grind the grated coconut, roasted channa daal, green chillies and chopped cilantro into thick paste using little water. Add salt and mix well. Season with mustard seeds, urad daal and hing. Ta-da! Yummy chutney is ready in couple of minutes! :)

Tastes great with Idli / Dosa.

I am sending this to EC's WYF Sidedish and Cilantro's JFI-Cilantro
